Body image anxiety can be all-consuming. If you’ve been there, you know.

To be honest, it feels scary to feel myself slipping back into that place sometimes. I fear that I’m going backwards. I fear that I’ll slip into that negative, hopeless cycle again. But alongside those fears is a voice saying something loud and clear: we will get through it because it’s different now.

And then I turn to the dozens of tools in my toolbox, which includes the many strategies I’ve gained in the last few years of healing, therapy and coaching.

Between the start of summer (which means bathing suits, shorts, and the physical discomfort of sweating in places we forgot we sweat) and the onslaught of content around thin bodies, I know many of us may be feeling a surge in body image anxiety right now.

Funny enough, I just looked back, and I posted the article Bikinis, Healing, and the Sneaky Return of Old Beliefs on May 19, 2025. Which means I was feeling this same way at nearly the exact same time last year.

If this is usually a season of high body image anxiety for you, too, let my tools be your tools. Find new ideas, take what resonates, and leave the rest.
